Where no man has gone before, for the second time, again and once more. Repeat. For the third time. I could have sworn I had written this already but whatever.
Star Trek in all it’s incarnations has become a staple for SciFi lovers everywhere and with the current fad for reboots it was only a matter of time before Star Trek went there too. J. J. Abrams of Lost fame directs this monstrosity of the original Enterprise and something about a time warp which makes everything that happens since Kirk’s birth go out the window. And it work, just about. The plot, acting, humor, timing and the fighting feels fresh and new. I have to admit, this film feels great… so great in fact that I don’t want to watch the earlier ones anymore. Mainly because they are obsolete in the new timeline but mainly because I think I’ve bonded with the new cast and director to the exclusion of all else and force me to give the new film a grand total of 5 stars.
